About Day Trips from Quilpie

- Fuel is available at Eromanga via 24-hour card machine only.
- The Eromanga Living History Centre conducts guided tours. Please check times and prices prior to leaving Quilpie.
- Food & refreshments are available at the Royal Hotel or Eromanga Café.
Quilpie to Duck Creek & Sheep Station Creek to Toompine to Quilpie
Points Of Interest:
- Get a taste for fossicking at the council run fossicking area before you leave Quilpie.
- Fossick for opal at the Duck Creek & Sheep Station Creek fossicking areas (permit required)
- Visit the iconic “Pub With No Town” at Toompine and learn about this once bustling opal town.
- Keep an eye out for the things that make this quirky pub such a tourist attraction, such as the blue tractor and the “Cemery”.
- St. Finbarr’s Opal Altar, Font & Lectern

- This trail has approx. 115km of unsealed roads.
- No mobile reception at fossicking areas.
- Fuel is not available at Toompine so be sure to fill up before you go.
- Food and refreshments are available at the Toompine Hotel.
- A fossicking permit is required for Duck Creek & Sheep Station Creek
Quilpie to Adavale to Hell Hole Gorge to Quilpie

- This trail has approx. 174km of unsealed roads
- Fuel is not available in Adavale so you will need to carry enough fuel to get to and from the National Park and back to Quilpie
- There is no mobile reception at Hell Hole Gorge National Park so it is essential to let someone know of your travel plans
- Food and refreshments are available at the Adavale Pub & General Store
