Weathering Well on a Wednesday
Chances are you or your parents have heard the day’s forecast from this popular presenter a few times but now ABC’s revered weather presenter, Jenny Woodward is heading west to Quilpie with her one woman stage show ‘Weathering Well’.
The show is an autobiographical history of her life and times as a presenter in the form of comedy, live music and video projections.
The show will be at the Quilpie Shire Hall on Wednesday 26th May 2021 from 7:00pm.

Join us at the Quilpie Shire Gallery from 6:30pm on Friday 28th May for the official opening of our latest exhibition, ‘Through our Eyes’.
This exhibition will showcase images from 3 local photographers; Lauran Gilligan, Wendy Sheehan & Heather Hahn – who capture their love for the Outback through their lens.
Light refreshments will be served through the opening and the exhibition will be on display until Friday 25th June.

Fancy a night at the Opera darling?
That’s right –Opera Queensland is bringing their ‘Are you Lonesome Tonight’ show to Quilpie and the performance will be held at none other than Baldy Top!
Bring your own comfy chair and blanket and enjoy this amazing performance under a million stars. A courtesy bus (gold coin donation) will run to and from Quilpie (including The Lake) to Baldy Top.
Bar will be in operation (so no BYO, please), Gourmet grazing platters and dessert platters for two will be available , but need to be pre-purchased with your ticket, however you are welcome to bring your own food.
Adults $20 and children under 18 are free.

You may know him as a sports reporter for Channel 9, but we know him as ex Quilpie boy Michael Atkinson – and he is coming back to Quilpie at the end of May.
Michael is taking part in the 2021 Simpson Dessert Trek to raise money for Youngcare and we will be celebrating the end of his trek (and raising further funds) with a Sunday Sesh at the Imperial Hotel in Quilpie on 30th May 2021.
Michael will be there and bringing some great prizes for raffles and to auction, such as; signed 2020 QLD Maroons State of Origin Jersey, 2020 Wallabies jersey, 2021 Broncos jersey signed by Captain Alex Glenn plus MUCH, MUCH MORE!
